I used to live down at 13th and Jackson, and De Lauers was my paradise. I could walk down there any time and get whatever candy I wanted, even hard-to-find stuff like Sunkist Fruit Gems and Uno. Even better, they have an awesome book…

De Lauer Super Newsstand, located in the heart of Oakland's downtown, carries a wide selection of newspapers, magazines, and even paperback novels. I've been there a number of times, even as late as midnight and it was still open. …
